Kilmar Abrego Garcia was deported to El Salvador on March 15th under suspicion that “Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a MS-13 gang member, illegal alien from El Salvador, and suspected human trafficker. The facts reveal he was pulled over with eight individuals in a car on an admitted three-day journey from Texas to Maryland with no luggage,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. The department of homeland security had reports on the traffic stop she was referencing and there is no mention of Garcia being a gang member or “trafficker” only that he was let off with a warning as there was a language barrier.
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled 9-0 that Garcia be returned to the United States and that the Trump administration must facilitate his return, as it was their error to send him—in an interview with Donald Trump the President of El Salvador laughed off the request of bringing Garcia back as he will not ‘smuggle someone’ into the United States.
His family has not had any contact or updates with him until recently. Senator Chris Van Hollen swore he would not rest until Kilmar Abrego Garcia was released from CECOT Prison and returned home. This prison know for housing terrorists, mind you the definition of a terrorist is someone who uses violence or the threat of violence to achieve political, religious, or ideological goals, often targeting civilians or other noncombatants, ironically these have been the actions of President Donald Trump as witnessed though the ‘witch-hunt’ for illegal immigrants.
April 17th, nearly a month later, Senator Van Hollen met with Garcia in El Salvador. Now labeled as a terrorist from CECOT, Van Hollen wanted to make sure he was well and be able to give his family a long-awaited update. Garcia’s wife, Jennifer Vasquez, said, “I will continue praying and fighting for Kilmar’s return home.” Garcia was not allowed to be processed correctly and was sent away due to an administrative error. Who is to say this negligence will not continue? Garcia is an example of what happens to innocent people when we skip due process. Everyone, whether a U.S. citizen or not, has the right to fair trials, but with this new regime of ICE Agents, a lot of mishandled and uninformed ‘immigrants’ are being taken advantage of, like Garcia. The Trump administration has not shown any support or accountability to help facilitate Garcia’s return home although instructed by the Supreme court and even went as far to say that “Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland looked like a fool yesterday standing in El Salvador begging for attention from the Fake News Media, or anyone” Donlad Trump. The president of the United States is clear on this being a ‘fake’ issue and a media opportunity for the democrats. Still, it’s civil rights being stripped from the people residing in America.
