Speak Out: In regards to the Oregon shooting and the singled out Christians who took bullets for what they believed in: What would you be willing to die for?

“This is definitely something you have to think about…It has to be something very deep and that you’ve fought for your whole life…Me, I’m still 17, I don’t have much that I can say yet but….I would say my family. I really love my family. I’d take a bullet for my family because although I know there’s a possibility of me going away, they’d still be alive. So yes, I’d take a bullet for them because I love them and I want them to keep living their lives. Plus there’s still a possibility of me living, and that’s a pretty good chance to take. They’re people I really care about, and I’d do anything for them. It’s important to me that they continue on living their lives.”

“Oh man…right away, I think family. It’s my first idea. Family. My brother, my mom and my dad. That’s what’s really important to me. I don’t think of anything else. Money doesn’t matter – I don’t care. I could be poor, and they’ll accept me and I’d be living with them. I could be rich and we’ll still love each other no matter what. And I think that’s what matters, the love. I would die for my family.”

“I would die for friendship and family and personally, what I believe in, is self-respect. So say if someone were shooting other people around, which is a terrible thing, and he came up to me and asked me what I believe in- I would say myself. I love myself. It’s not like an egotistic; it’s more like a healthy ego. I take myself very seriously and I feel other people should take themselves seriously too and do the right thing when the time comes.”
