Action has wrapped up Saturday for the 2026 Acura Long Beach Grand Prix with qualifying complete for the headlining NTT Indycar Series and racing done for the supporting IMSA Sportscar Championship. Also taking place was the North America Porsche Carrera Cup with its first of two races on the weekend.
Indycar saw Felix Rosenqvist take pole for Sunday’s main 90-lap event, which takes place at 5:00pm EST and 2:00 local time and can be watched through Fox Sports. Driving the #60 Sirius XM Honda for Myers Shank Racing, he piped Pato O’ward’s #5 Arrow Mclaren Chevorlet by just 0.0441 hundreths of a second in the Firestone Fast 6.
For the IMSA series, where Grand Touring Prototypes (GTPs) and GT3 variants of road going cars (GTDs) compete at the same time, the #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06 driven Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly took the win in the faster prototypes. The #12 Vasser Sulivan Racing Lexus RC F GT3 was the first GTD car across the line, driven by Aaron Telitz and Benjamin Pedersen.
In the supporting Porsche Carrera Cup Tom Sargent of GMG Racing took the win in his #32 911 GT3 992.2. The second race takes place tomorrow at 11:20am local time and coverage can be found on Peacock.
Earlier in the day, last years Long Beach GP winner Kyle Kirkwood paced the second practice of the weekend in his #27 Andretti Global machine. The race tomorrow is the last before the series heads to Indianapolis for the month of May for the events preceding the prestigious Indy 500.
