The climate crisis is a complex issue that requires the diverse skills, expertise, lived experiences, and collaborative efforts of many. Los Angeles County is made up of numerous communities, each grappling with its own unique climate-related issues. Recognizing the significant work ahead, LA Climate Week was launched in 2024 as a weeklong initiative designed to unite communities across the greater region and foster transformative climate action.
LA Climate Week 2026 takes place from April 8-15, under the slogan “Designing LA’s Climate Future, Together.” This theme highlights the collaborative spirit that is essential to the movement. “We envision a Los Angeles region where climate action is visible, culturally embedded, and shaped by the people who live here- where neighbors, institutions, and industries see themselves as part of building a just, regenerative, and hopeful climate future.”
To make this vision a reality, anyone can host an event during LA Climate Week. Individuals, school groups, organizations or institutions can submit their idea and receive support to get their program up and running. The initiative provides toolkits and weekly check-ins with event organizers, reinforcing the ongoing efforts throughout the region while forging new connections.
Each day, dozens of events are held in nearly every corner of Los Angeles. These range from workshops and film screenings to service projects and discussions on local issues. Notable events include native plant garden tours, beach clean-ups, panel discussions, youth summits, and habitat restoration projects. Each activity offers a chance to engage meaningfully and contribute to the collective effort of shaping a sustainable future for Los Angeles.
Curious about the event or looking to get involved? Connect with friends, family or classmates to attend an event. If you don’t see an event scheduled in your neighborhood, consider planning one yourself! Participation is key to ensuring a sucessful Climate Week!
